Visiting Florida

Orlando Attractions

Attractions - Kissimmee, Orlando & Beyond...

A visit to central Florida is not just about the theme parks.  Aside from these, there are numerous shopping malls, factory outlets, themed crazy golf courses and a multitude of other attractions.  The attractions are located predominately on International Drive, with a number also around highway US192.

Old Town & the Saturday Nite Cruise

Located on highway US192 and less than 5 minutes from Indian Wells is Orlando's most popular free attraction - Old Town.

With the adjoining Fun Spot, unique shops, live music on busier nights, lively bars, fairground rides, a haunted house, classic car and 'muscle car' cruises and a real American atmosphere - Old Town and Fun Spot have something for everyone.

The most popular and definitely the busiest event is the classic car Saturday Nite Cruise.  From late afternoon until the cruise starts at 8.30pm, expect to see retro coupés, customized hot-rods, 1970s classics and even the odd fire engine.  This is a definite must for car enthusiasts - do not forget your camera.  Alternatively, meet at the 'Sun on the Beach' bar throughout the week for DJs, live acts and the best place to drink a cold beer watching the world go by.  If you want a gentle stroll visiting the shops or a bite to eat,  visit on a Monday or Tuesday night - it is a lot quieter.

If you are Old Town bound on a Saturday, although entry is free there is now a US$5 charge to park.  However as Indian Wells, is under 5 minutes drive, why not offset the parking fee by taking a cab.  These are readily available, can accommodate up to 5 passengers and there are telephone numbers in the villas.
